Work

Working in Canada typically requires a work permit, though some roles may be exempt. Canada offers two primary types of work permits:

  1. Employer-Specific Work Permit: Tied to a specific employer, requiring a job offer and sometimes a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
  2. Open Work Permit: Allows you to work for any employer in Canada and is often granted to spouses of international students or skilled workers and recent graduates of Canadian institutions.

Exceptions exist for certain roles, like specific business visitors or performing artists.
